The moment when the personification of falling in love tenderly kisses the arrowhead before he draws his arrow in his bow and aims at the heart or at best to unite two hearts. How good if you could see him, show yourself to him or even hide from him.

M.S.: The theme of love has always accompanied sculpture. My sculpture shows the angelic curly head of Cupid holding the arrow of love in his right hand and kisses its tip.

A duet of innocence and desire. The kiss of death doesn't scare the unsuspecting child. It holds him tenderly in its hand, it doesn't know anything about him yet. However, he is sure of his task, the timing is still seems uncertain.

M.S.: A very strong Vanitas symbol. With this sculpture I describe the transience, shown by the finely crafted skull in the child's arm. Memento Mori - Be aware of mortality.

Melanie Sterba's interpretation of David vs. Goliath. Just who or what is David today and what or who is Goliath now?

M.S.: My David is very young, has curly hair and wears a hoodie. With his left hand on the zipper, he leaves us in the dark as to whether he is opening it or rather zipping it shut. Gazing slightly upwards, he doesn't exactly exude confidence, but he seems brave enough to face his opponent, whoever that may be.

Curly hair falling like a waterfall. Soft facial features, filled with pleasure. With closed eyes, surrendering to the hypnotic sound of the water, she lets us feel her calm. And the desire for a kiss from this breathtaking beauty will for some certainly remain a secret.

M.S.: I show Undine, an enchanting beauty, known from legends as a female nature spirit, who embodies the element of water. If you look close enough and if the water is really clear and pure, you can see them.

A marble skull exactly half that size, with five golden teeth.

M.S.: He’s the escaped.
